Video Tutorial: Falling Cubes
Here is my videotutorial.
Here is my videotutorial.
In the last week I realized that I haven’t opened my RSS reader in a billion years. For a long time I got my news and site updates through RSS. NetNewsWire was the first thing I opened in the morning and I read most of the upcoming articles constantly through the whole day. But something changes in my behavior and I guess I know what it is: Twitter. Most of the interesting stuff I got through RSS gets tweeted and retweeted on Twitter nowadays. So there is no need for another source of information. So unfortunately NetNewsWire had to go. But to get good information on Twitter you have to find people who are tweeting the right stuff. To give you some idea or maybe to get started I put together my Top Twitter Accounts related to Motiongraphics/VFX/Animation. Andrew Kramer @videocopilot I guess Andrew is the guru of compositing/vfx/motiongraphics for most of the “internet tutorial” generation. On his website videocopilot.net he hosts great video tutorials for beginners and advanced users at the same time and offers a lot of cool products like stock footage or plugins. John Dickinson @Motionworks John Dickinson is the host of motionworks.com.au and creator of many great and informative After Effects and Cinema 4D tutorials. Besides that he had two very interesting projects on motionworks: “Unplugged” and “Business of Design”. In his interview series “Unplugged” John talks to the well known Motion Graphics gurus in the industry like Andrew Kramer or Harry Frank and gives us a closer look at all these great talents. “Business of Design” concentrates on the business side of design work. John and Robin Dickinson providing great tips about how to save your money, promote yourself and make the best out of your business. Tim Clapham @helloluxx Formerly known as the owner of Hyper.tv has now started a new company in Sydney, Austalia called Luxx.com.au On his company blog he provides great tutorials and tips & ticks mainly focusing on Cinema 4D. His light dome for Cinema 4D is a great way to lighten a scene without setting up everything by ourself. Tim is one of the few “popular” Cinema 4D tutors how uses and explains xpresso. Besides his blog he published a Cinema 4D training on Motionworks called “Making it look great 6″. Nick Campell @nickvegas The Grayscale Gorilla is quite new compared to most of the others. He has two main sites: greyscalegorilla.com and makecoolshit.com His After Effects and Cinema 4D tuts are more than helpful. He always has a great tip. His presentations are fresh and natural which makes it easy to follow and stick with him. But not only his software tuts are worth mentioning. Nick also records videos to help you get organize and focus on your work. You can see a lot of great tips on makecoolshit.com. Even his father is starring in one video to provide some tips. Robert Redman @pariahrob I know Roberts work only for a short time but his tutorials are really helpful. They are very diversified: It goes from architectural modeling to Mograph technics and you never know whats next. Topher Welsh @toe_fur Well, I guess there is no website related to AE out there where Topher isn’t a co-author. He tweets a lot of good stuff during the day and is a great source of information. If you read his roundups you will never miss a good tutorial again! Aharon Rabinowitz @ABAOProductions During university I never missed one episode of Aharons Creative Cow AE podcasts. Every morning I had to take the train and instead of listening to music I listen to Aharons AE tips and tricks. I don’t know why but at some point I lost it. But he has some great tutorials online and a lot of times I go back and watch one when I for example forgot how to set up an Odometer. On his website you can watch all of his tutorials or purchase one of his products. Well, I can not list every single person here but if you think I missed someone important which is worth mentioning leave a comment.
